McKinlay's have been recognised for many years by a wide range of
manufacturing industries for their expertise in the production of encapsulated
and sealed components.
Key Features
Examples of McKinlay products, most of which are completely manufactured
in-house, include cast HV pulse transformers, HV component housings,
low-density (specific gravity less than 1) HV insulators, encapsulated
circuitry and radiation barriers for radar equipment; encapsulated step-up and
isolation transformers (currently up to 210kV) and X-ray tube and camera
components for operation under high vacuum (10-7 mbar).
Other products are wound and encapsulated solenoids for varied special
applications including high temperature (Class H and above) radiation,
chemical and water resistant components for signalling buoys, sonar devices,
cathodic protection and laboratory equipment; encapsulated motor windings
(from miniature up to 600 mm in diameter); wound, assembled and encapsulated
displacement transducers for hydraulic rams and many encapsulations for
intrinsically safe applications.
