For many years McKinlay's have had a progressive development programme for
their Cast-Moulded component business.
Key Features
Cast-Moulding combines the technologies of high performance resins with
low cost tooling. The highly specialised resins have been designed to fit a
wide range of industrial requirements and when employed with the low cost
tooling system, offer the specifying development and production engineer the
ultimate solution to the production of cost-competitive mechanical components.
Prototyping, pre-production, short and medium runs are ideally suited to
the McKinlay process. Components are of a high quality production standard,
comparable with injection moulding ad far superior to machined items.
Cost comparisons of the Cast-Moulded process to those mentioned above show
significant and realistic savings. Unlike machined components, cast moulding
produces products requiring little to no post-production treatment for
environmental or aesthetic considerations. When compared to traditional
methods of moulded component manufacture, cast moulding with its low cost
tooling system offers large savings when the high capital cost of injection
and compression moulding tools are taken into account.
